Habitat Suitability Index

Finally Here!

With the brilliant minds of the coding team, we've finally finished our HSI. This HSI is for Dungeness crab using Shiny app-making software.  This model can help map out the suitable habitat for the crabs based on different abiotic factors within the environment. We are so excited for you to see it!

What's new with the California Current System?

The California Current system is an extremely unique and important region for all things marine. It's the evolutionary birthplace of pinnipeds and is home to some of the most beautiful underwater places on the planet. Due to this uniqueness, marine scientists all have their eyes set on this region.

On this website, we aim to have resources to understand the different environmental gradients and factors associated with the conditions of the California Current ecosystem. Our goal is to help you understand what amazing science is going on around this important and fascinating region. We have lots in store for you

There's always something new going on along the Pacific Coast!
